The Burgaw Now team- Dawn, Krista, and Anna Grace, were invited to speak at the local Rotary Club last Thursday. We had a grand ol’ time! The club meets weekly at the Pender Adult Services Heritage Place facility at 901 South Walker Street. The community-based group strives to have a speaker that can discuss a topic of local interest.

The meeting started at 7:00 AM sharp with a prayer, Pledge of Allegiance and a hand-picked song from their Rotary booklet. Shortly after, their chef prepared a tasty breakfast to start everyone’s day. She made an egg, grits, and sausage casserole that was to die for. Not to mention, she had an assortment of picture-perfect muffins and morning refreshments. The coffee station was a hit among most attendees.

Once the president conducted important club business, we were introduced to the approximately 20-30 members. We had a presentation that covered our upcoming goals and projects including an update on the Brew Pub and its opening date- October 31. We also briefed everyone on Penderlea Farms and an event we are holding there on October 1st. We topped off the presentation with printed brochures for everyone to take home.

All in all, it was a wonderful and wholesome experience. The members were encouraging and urge anyone with any interest of joining to reach out. We can’t wait to come back and visit! Thanks Burgaw Rotary for having us.
