2022 Blueberry Festival Sets Record Breaking Year

A crowd at a festival

“With a record breaking number of visitors, hundreds of volunteers and vendors, and performances that kept the crowd entertained into the night, the festival has been named a “success” according to Blueberry Festival Sponsorship Chairman and former Mayor, Pete Cowan.”

The 2022 Blueberry Festival commanded the town of Burgaw last weekend, June 18th with thousands of visitors from all over the state. This is the first year the festival has been back in two years following COVID-19 and the results were all the festival committee was hoping for, and more. With a record breaking number of visitors, hundreds of volunteers and vendors, and performances that kept the crowd entertained into the night, the festival has been named a “success” according to Blueberry Festival Sponsorship Chairman and former Mayor, Pete Cowan. “We are so blessed for our incredible sponsors, volunteers and visitors from all of our surrounding areas and Burgaw. Putting on the festival is all about the community and teamwork. Everyone of our board members, staff and vendors understands that.” The community was certainly prevalent during the weekend with local musicians, food vendors and, of course, blueberries for all the visitors to experience!
